Justin achieved his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2000 and undertook advanced training in complex spine surgery at Toronto Western Hospital, Canada, in 2001. After completion he relocated to Canberra in 2002 where he established ACT NeuroSpine Clinic and then Capital Neurosurgery.
Justin is committed to providing a high quality neurosurgical service that is appropriate to the patients’ needs. Having more than 20 years' experience in diagnosing and treating spinal conditions, Justin's expertise lies in determining the cause of patients' symptoms and discussing the most appropriate and effective treatment options. Having gained a reputation as a conservative surgeon, Justin understands that surgery is a major undertaking and is only offered when there is a good chance of improving his patients’ debilitating symptoms.
Surgery is performed using image guidance technology and microsurgical techniques that minimise the invasiveness of the surgical procedure.
Our staff enjoy working with Justin as he is an excellent surgeon who always has his patients' best interests at heart. He communicates clearly and respectfully with his patients, staff and colleagues and always looks after the welfare of his team. He is a keen sourdough baker, flyfisherman and skier who loves spending time in the mountains.
Justin consults in our Canberra rooms and performs all surgery at National Capital Private Hospital in Canberra.
