What is a Neurosurgeon?
The Australian Medical Association has released a patient guide:
"Informed Financial Consent: A Collaboration Between Doctors and Patients".
View this information below.
Neurosurgeons are medical doctors who
specialise in surgical treatment of patients
with neurological conditions.
Their specialty training includes diagnosis
and treatment of disorders of the brain,
spine, spinal cord, nerves as well as the blood vessels of the brain and spinal cord.
All of our Neurosurgeons have completed Australian postgraduate qualifications in Neurosurgery as well as additional sub-specialty Fellowship training overseas.
Patients are usually referred to a Neurosurgeon to determine whether surgery would be an appropriate treatment option for their symptoms.
Capital Neurosurgery Response to COVID-19
Capital Neurosurgery is accepting referrals as usual. We are following the most up to date advice from ACT Health and National Capital Private Hospital to minimise the risk of infection to staff, patients and the community.
For this reason we have closed the office to patients and visitors and are offering Telehealth consultations only. If you require surgery our staff will advise you whether this has been affected.
Please be aware that information and guidelines are changing daily and this may affect our practice at short notice.
If you need to attend the rooms, you must notify us beforehand if you have recently travelled overseas, been unwell with fever, cough, breathing difficulties or had contact with any person/s who are at risk of coronavirus.
We have increased our infection control measures within the practice to optimise the safety of staff and patients.
If you have any questions please speak to our staff.
Updated information from ACT Health can be found in the link below:
