Our doctors are well supported by our highly trained and experienced administrative team.
They have extensive experience and knowledge of the practice and will provide you with information and assistance regarding your appointment and hospital admission.
All staff share the values of the practice - respect, excellence, professionalism, efficiency and continual improvement - and this is evident in the way they deliver care to our patients and referring doctors.
Carolyn
Business Manager

Carolyn has over 20 years' experience working with Capital Neurosurgery. Her previous career was as a physiotherapist in acute care, ICU and postoperative care. She has also worked as a clinical tutor at The Canberra Hospital and lecturer in the physiotherapy programme at the University of Canberra.
Carolyn manages the business development, marketing, procedural, HR and financial aspects of the practice. Her priority is ensuring that our team feel supported and appreciated in their roles and that the practice is continually improving and progressing. This allows Capital Neurosurgery to provide the absolute best care possible to our patients.
Lisa

Lisa has worked with Capital Neurosurgery for over 10 years and has extensive experience in both medical and legal administration. Her priority is ensuring outstanding service to our patients delivered with care, empathy and professionalism. It is Lisa's absolute goal and pleasure to exceed our patients' expectations and to always seek to improve our practice procedures. She also ensures the welfare of our whole team who provide this valuable service. Lisa appreciates the wonderful feedback we receive from patients about our surgeons and the whole team and feels very lucky to work alongside them.
Laura

Before joining the team at Capital Neurosurgery Laura worked in aged care and in her family's real estate business so she has extensive experience in patient care and business administration. She is also a busy mum to two beautiful young girls so has excellent time management and efficiency. Laura loves helping our patients through their journey with our practice, from booking their first consultation and answering their initial queries to seeing their incredible results from surgery. Laura has outstanding communication skills and believes it truly is a privilege to work for our surgeons and the practice.
Mel
Senior Administrative Assistant to Dr Pik

Mel joined the Capital Neurosurgery team early in 2023. She has a great deal of prior experience working with surgical specialists. Mel prides herself on prioritising patients' needs and goes above and beyond to make patients feel welcome and respected. She has a warm, calm and friendly presence in the practice and looks after our patients with compassion, empathy and efficiency.
Tayla

Tayla has recently joined the Capital Neurosurgery team but has solid experience in legal firms and administration. She enjoys the challenge of applying her skills to the medical environment and has an extremely polite and professional manner when assisting patients with their queries and concerns. Having a young family and busy job, she is extremely organised and efficient. Tayla enjoys working in a team environment and communicates with everyone with positivity and enthusiasm.
Ryan
Administrative Assistant

Ryan has worked as an administrative assistant at Capital Neurosurgery for 2 years, editing and sending patient consultation letters, assisting with booking appointments and answering patient queries. He is currently studying Medicine at ANU, his position at Capital Neurosurgery complementing his studies and providing him with invaluable exposure to the medical profession and experience with patient interaction. For this reason amongst many others, Ryan finds it to be an absolute joy working at Capital Neurosurgery and being able to learn and contribute to looking after our wonderful patients.

Jacinta has broad experience working in the healthcare industry, having previously worked as a Registered Nurse for 7 years before commencing a law degree and joining the Capital Neurosurgery Team in 2022. Jacinta absolutely loves working here, as the staff all share a very holistic and supportive paradigm with one another and with our patients. She says that the level of care and attention we strive to deliver is inspiring! A major part of why Jacinta enjoys her role is seeing people get the help they need and being satisfied with their experience at Capital Neurosurgery. She believes she couldn't ask to work with a better team.

Svetlana has recently joined the team at Capital Neurosurgery. She is a compassionate Registered Nurse who prides herself in providing individualised patient care. She is committed to delivering a high level of patient care through effective communication and education. Svetlana holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and Psychology, and has previously worked in acute care across ICU, Recovery, Anaesthesia and Mental Health units. Along with the dedicated team at Capital Neurosurgery, Svetlana likes to ensure that all patients feel genuinely well cared for from the first attendance at the practice through to their hospital stay and during their recovery at home.
